Imagine this, you landed on our website, trying to find the perfect base gel for your service and realised you have tons of options to choose from. Choosing your base is key since it may affect your efficiency, application process, and, most importantly, the result.

At Bee Lady Nails, we take the base gel matter very seriously! We have a variety of base gels to cater to nail types and arts. Like many, no base gel fits all— knowing the kind of base gel you need will help you do great things on your client’s nails! The good news is, you don’t need to worry about comparing and researching because we’ve done all the hard work for you. Here are the top 5 base gels and their differences according to our standard practice.

KOKOIST Mega stick bae gel

1. KOKOIST Mega Stick Base Gel

If you’re a Japanese base gel newbie, we definitely recommend going with this base gel. This soft gel works well with 85-90% natural nails and is clear and thick in consistency— ideal for high-speed service!

This KOKOIST Mega Stick Base Gel is also known for its adhesion durability and high flexibility that could last for up to 3-4 weeks. Even better, this base gel can work with full cover gel tips extensions without the primer and/or sticky bond needed! Plus, it’s easy to soak off too!

Extra brownie point for being:

  • Vegan
  • Cruelty-free
  • Free from harsh chemicals
  • Cosmetic-grade
  • Great self-levelling
  • Easy to remove

Available in both bottles and pots with various sizes to match your needs.

Bee Lady Tip: We recommend building a little apex with the base coat and cleaning with 90 - 100% isopropyl alcohol instead of acetone for better adhesion.

VETRO Fuji base gel

2. VETRO Fuji Base Gel

Your clients work handy jobs and would love strong and long-lasting manicures? The Vetro Fuji base gel got your back! This highly adhesive, semi-hard base gel is ideal for creating a solid base for nails that could last up to 4 weeks. Its ability to correct uneven nail plates makes this base gel perfect for customers like baristas, nurses, chefs, and hospitality workers, to name a few.

Compared to the KOKOIST Mega Stick base gel, the viscosity of the Fuji base gel is stickier and thicker. However, the thickness of this product is just enough and doesn’t overflow to the skin—which is excellent! This clear base gel can also be used for fill-in service and is refillable!

Extra brownie point for being:

  • Vegan
  • Cruelty-free
  • Free from harsh chemicals
  • Cosmetic-grade
  • Great self-levelling

Available only in pots with 3 sizes: 4g, 25ml and 45ml.

Bee Lady Tips: We recommend building a little apex with the base coat and cleaning with 90 - 100% isopropyl alcohol instead of acetone for better adhesion.

For removal, file the base layer and soak with acetone for 3-5min; remove with the Bee Lady Nails Gel Removal Drill Bit M.

Vetro Base Max gel

5. VETRO Base Max Gel

At this point, we know not all nails are built strong. So if you work with weak, damaged nails, opt for the VETRO Max base gel. Developed with high adhesive resin, this base gel requires no sanding. The texture of this product is different from the rest as it has a water-like consistency, which gives great flexibility. However, the light texture also means less strength, so we recommend overlaying the base with a builder, extension gel or a strong top coat. Plus, this base gel is super easy to remove with acetone, with approximately 8 minutes of soak time.

Extra brownie point:

  • Vegan
  • Cruelty-free
  • Cosmetic-grade
  • No primer need

Available in pots in 2 sizes: 4ml and 25ml.

Bee Lady Nails Tip: When applying, apply two thin layers of the base gel to help avoid the product floating to the skin.

The base gels mentioned do not require primers or sticky bonds as they usually contain harsh chemicals that could damage natural nails—it can even cause allergies! However, achieving a great and long-lasting result depends on your manicure techniques. Of course, the better they are, the longer they’ll be!

To summarise everything, we’ve also built a table for a quick read—make sure you keep this handy!
