The KOKOIST Premier & Excel Certification Course is an in-depth two-day program designed to help nail artists understand the complete KOKOIST gel system—from foundational gel theory and product selection to structured overlays, extensions and Gelip application.
This course goes beyond following application steps. You will learn why each product behaves differently, how to select the right gel for different nail types, and how to create safe, balanced and long-lasting enhancements using official KOKOIST techniques.
Students who successfully complete the course and assessments will receive both:
- KOKOIST Premier Certification — Level 1
- KOKOIST Excel Certification — Level 2
Learn the System, Not Just the Steps
The Japanese gel system is about more than applying gel correctly. It requires an understanding of the natural nail, gel behaviour, product selection, brush control and structure.
You may already know how to complete a gel service but still feel unsure about:
- Which gel is most suitable for each client
- Why lifting, peeling or cracking happens
- How much product to apply
- How to control pot gel more smoothly
- How to create strength without unnecessary bulk

This course brings theory and practical learning together, helping you understand not only what to do, but also why you are doing it.
Through clear explanations, educator demonstrations and guided hands-on practice, you will learn how to make more confident decisions and apply the Japanese gel system to real salon situations.

- Brush preparation, cleaning and care
- Traditional Japanese pot gel application
- Brush angle, pressure and product control
- Base gel and structured overlay techniques
- Apex placement, balance and side-profile structure
- Excel Builder application
- Free-form gel extensions
- KOKOIST Gelip preparation, bonding and application
- Filing, refinement and troubleshooting
French and Exclusive Nail Art
- Clean French application using pot gel
- Two exclusive nail art designs created especially for this course

Theory and Hands-on Practice
The course includes a balanced combination of:

- A complete KOKOIST product walkthrough

Class size is limited to eight students, allowing time for questions, personal guidance and focused practice.

Prior gel experience and confidence in using an e-file are required for this course.

The two courses are designed for different stages of learning.
The Japanese Gel Nail Essential Skills Course is a beginner-friendly course for those who want to learn the foundations of Japanese gel application safely and correctly, whether practising on themselves or providing services for friends.
The KOKOIST Premier & Excel Certification Course is designed for students who already have gel experience and want a deeper understanding of the KOKOIST system. It focuses on product knowledge, structured application and choosing the right KOKOIST products to suit different natural nail conditions and service needs.
If you are still building confidence in basic gel application, the Essential Skills Course is the best place to begin.
Yes. Previous gel experience is required.
Students should be confident with basic gel application, e-file manicure and safe gel removal before attending. You do not need to be an advanced nail technician, but this is an intensive certification course and will not cover beginner manicure skills step by step.
Yes. Students who attend both certification days and successfully complete the required theory and practical assessments will receive:
- KOKOIST Premier Certification — Level 1
- KOKOIST Excel Certification — Level 2
Both days must be completed to receive the two certifications.
We understand that experienced nail artists may already own some of the included products. However, the KOKOIST course kit and official training manual are an essential part of the certification course and cannot be removed or exchanged for a reduced course fee.
The kit has been carefully selected to ensure every student has the complete and consistent range of products required for training. All items included in the kit will be used throughout the course and can continue to be used in your professional work afterwards.
